Kyaro is a small town in Higheast, formerly part of the Highland Kingdom. As the Highland-Jowston War came to and end, Kyaro was the one town Jowston refused to lose to Highland. It was then that King Agares Blight called for a duel to determine ownership of the city. The duel pitted two close friends, Han Cunningham and Genkaku, both famed heroes, against each other. In the end, Genkaku refused to fight his friend, for he learned that Darell had poisoned his blade so that Jowston could retain Kyaro. The city was subsequently lost to Highland and Genkaku was exiled from Jowston. In recent years, Kyaro has become most famous for its popularity with Highland aristocrats; many built summer homes in the small village, including the family of late King Agares Blight. Due to this association, a strong tourism industry has sprung up in the area, which is located within the mountains of Highland. During the rule of the Highland Kingdom, the city was also famous for being the home of the Unicorn Brigade, a youth brigade of Highland soldiers in training. However, this brigade was slaughtered by Luca Blight in an attempt to drum up support for a war with Jowston, blaming it on Jowston soldiers. The attempt was successful, and the slaughter directly lead to the beginning of the Dunan Unification War. Riou and Nanami were both raised in Kyaro by Genkaku. This was also the home of Jowy and his family, as well as the captain of the Unicorn Brigade, Rowd, and his sister. | |||||||||||||
