Kika

Kika (キカ) is a major character in Suikoden IV who also appears in Suikoden Tactics. A famous pirate, Kika has a large amount of subordinates at her command, including Dario, Hervey, Nalleo, and Sigurd.

Biography

A famed pirate based on the seas around the Island Nations Federation documented in the book Lives of Pirates. Although wanted by Gaien in the past, Kika got along with Lino En Kuldes, the King of Obel.

In the past she was co-leader of a band of pirates along with her lover Edgar and to a lesser extent Brandeau. When Edgar was killed and Brandeau twisted by the Rune of Punishment in 299, Kika stepped up to lead the group herself, with Dario as her right hand man.

Emotionally distant, Kika nonetheless has a sense of duty of friendship, agreeing to ally with Lino En Kuldes following the occupation of Obel by the Kooluk Empire in 304 during the early stages of the Island Liberation War.

Kika knew Elenor Silverberg as she lived on Hermitage Island, a short distance from Kika's own Pirate's Nest and it was Kika who organised a meeting between Lazlo and Elenor which saw the latter join the Island Liberation Navy as chief strategist.

Commanding the Grishend, Kika's pirate fleet became an integral part of the Liberation Navy and following the war, Kika and her group continued their pirating ways, presumably without attacking ships belonging to the new Island Nations Federation.

In 309, the Pirate's Nest was ransacked by Kooluk's Patriarchal Faction with all remaining Rune Cannon supplies being stolen. Traveling to Obel with Kyril and his group to report this potentially dangerous news to Lino En Kuldes, Kika agreed to accompany Kyril's group on their investigation within Kooluk.

Following the events in Kooluk and the destruction of the last potential source of Rune Cannons, Kika and her group returned to their pirating life once more. It is said that when Kika finally met her end, it was on the high seas.

Trivia

• Kika's weapon (Twin Swords) upgrade as: Deesha, Pelkent, Righarard. The significance of these names is unknown.
• Following Edgar's death, Kika made his second cervical vertebrae into a necklace, which she always wore.
• The pattern tattoed on Kika's back is the same as the one featured on Edgar's cape.
• Kika is the only Falcon Rune bearer in the series that did not obtain the rune from Roundier Haia. Such a circumstance would be impossible.
• Kika is voiced in Suikoden IV by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn.
