The Karaya clan, one of the Six Clans of the Grassland, is one of the more warlike tribes which live throughout the Grassland plans. They are well known for their warriors' bravery, and have participated in both the Dunan Unification War and both the first and second Fire Bringer wars. They have also had numerous conflicts with the Tinto Republic to the east, Zexen Confederacy to the west, and the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia to the north. Karayas are well known for their bravery, and, off the battlefield, their pottery; Karayan Urns can be found as far south as the Queendom of Falena. The Karaya are also known as strong believers in elemental worship, placing their faith in earth spirits. Some Karayans are even able to communicate with the elements themselves. Karaya VillageOriginally a somewhat nomadic tribe, the Karayan Clan have slowly begun to settle, establishing Karaya Village on the plains of the Grassland. Karaya Village was burned down by Zexen forces in SY 475; the Karaya were forced to flee to their allies, the Duck and Lizard clans. Following the end of the Second Fire Bringer War, however, the village was rebuilt, under the hand of Hugo, who had recently been passed chiefdom from his mother, Lucia.
